In April, friends of Finnish films were offered a rare treat in Belgrade, Podgorica and Skopje. The Embassy, in cooperation with local partners and the Finnish Film Foundation, organized days of contemporary Finnish cinema with a program selected by Bojan Vuletic, a well-known Serbian director.

Belgrade, 19th January 2018 - Ambassador of Finland in Belgrade Pertti Ikonen hosted a reception for the friends of Finland who took part in the organization of the program for marking one hundred years of Finnish independence in Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro. At the end of November 2017, Finnish company Taaleri Group announced that it has signed an agreement with Cibuk Wind Holding regarding the acquisition of a minority interest in the under-construction Cibuk 1 wind farm, the largest wind project in Serbia to date.

The centenary of Finland’s independence was celebrated last night around the world and in Belgrade. On the 6th December 1917, the Parliament of the Autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland approved the deceleration of independence, which was the beginning of an inspiring story of one country’s rise to the top of the world.

The Honorary Consulate of Finland in Bar tasked with assisting in consular matters and trade promotion was officially opened yesterday evening. Mihailo Pavicevic, who worked as a basketball coach in Finland for nine years and was selected as the Coach of the Year in 2003, has been appointed the Honorary Consul of Finland.
