EU Foreign Ministers discussed the status of Kosovo
At the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council meeting held in Brussels on Monday 10 December, the EU Foreign Ministers discussed the situation in Kosovo. Finland stresses coordinated and coherent EU action and responsibility when deciding the status and future of Kosovo. At the same time, Finland stresses ensuring stability in the region and support for Serbia’s European perspective. The EU is continuing to prepare the presence of the international community in the area.

Foreign Minister Tuomioja: Ahtisaari’s Kosovo proposal received the EU’s support
UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari attended the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council meeting in Brussels to present his proposal for the future of Kosovo to the EU Foreign Ministers, who endorsed the proposal, writes Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja in his blog on Monday, 12 February. According to Tuomioja, this support is important because unity of the EU is especially meaningful in handling the Kosovo issue and implementing the recommendations.
