Nordic companies share their know-how with Serbian partners

The Embassy of Finland and the Nordic Business Alliance organized the event  “Nordic Innovative Business in Serbia” at Ambassador Pertti Ikonen’s residence on 6th September. On this occasion, representatives of Nordic companies had an opportunity to discuss with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic how to improve business climate in Serbia.

Innovations in business sector are a pathway to attracting more investments to Serbia and increasing competitiveness of the Serbian economy, participants of the event agreed. Nordic companies, known to be world leaders in business innovations, are not only interested in doing business in Serbia, but also ready to share their knowledge and expertise.

Ambassador Pertti Ikonen emphasized that there is room for improvement in the economic relations between Serbia and the Nordic countries. The ongoing reforms and the EU integration process are increasing confidence in the stability of Serbian market and making it more attractive for Nordic business and investments, so Serbia is strongly encouraged to continue on this road, Ikonen said.

Prime Minister Vucic expressed his gratitude to Nordic partners for noticing Serbia’s progress in the economy and on the European path, and for their readiness to invest in it. "We came to those results thanks to the reforms. Today we discussed with our Nordic partners joint efforts to encourage innovation, which is vital for future investments,” Vucic said.

The event organized at the Finnish Ambassador’s residence is a part of continuous public-private dialogue among Nordic companies, national authorities and other relevant stakeholders. The aim of the dialogue is to create a platform for removing barriers to investments in Serbia, but also for exploring new business opportunities.
