One of the priority sectors for Government of Serbia in the future is the environment protection. Almost nothing was done in this field so far and large efforts are required to manage waste, waste water and air pollution. Estimated need for investments in this area is around 4 billion EUR to meet the EU standards.
This means that there are opportunities for producers of equipment, as well as related design and installation expertise used in municipal and environmental infrastructure sector.
All relevant financial institutions and funds, such as EBRD, World Bank, KfW and many others are promoting this sector.
