Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja on the Middle East

I steeply condem the suicide attacks in Tel Aviv. As I have repeatedly stated, suicide attacks damage the Palestinians’ cause. The mutual circle of violence hinders the resolution of the situation in the Middle East. In order to break the chain of violence it is essential to re-start the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians in accordance with the joint proposal by the quartet, i.e. the UN, the EU, the United States and Russia.
