EU HoMs Met with the new Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal
European Union Heads of Mission in Kathmandu called on Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to offer their congratulations on his inauguration. Offering their support in tackling the challenging issues facing the new government, they urged the Prime Minister to focus on collaborating with all the political parties to find a way forward.

Closer cooperation between Finland and Nepal
Finland would like to steer its growing aid to Nepal more towards regional development within the country. The new approach was discussed at a meeting on 2 April between Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen, during the Nepalese Prime Minister’s visit to Finland.

Voting abroad in the European Elections 2009

Nepal is building peace through human rights
Finland is providing the right kind of support to Nepal, says Richard Bennett, the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Nepal. He was visiting Finland on 14-15 July. Finland supports both the OHCHR office in Nepal and the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal. Bennett visited Finland in connection with the forensic medicine analysis of the alleged mass grave findings in Shivapur near Kathmandu.

From 1st June 2008 Embassy of Denmark starts to represent Sweden in visa issues
From 1st of June all Schengen visa applications to Sweden should be submitted to the Embassy of Denmark. Embassy of Finland will handle all the applications to Sweden received before 1st June and continues issuing Schengen visas to Finland.
