Pertti Anttinen appointed Ambassador to Kathmandu

At the presidential session on Friday 18 May, the President of the Republic decided to appoint Counsellor Pertti Anttinen to serve as the Ambassador of Finland to Kathmandu, Nepal, starting from 1 September 2018.

Pertti Anttinen is currently Senior Adviser at the Department for Africa and the Middle East, responsible for the steering and coordination of development cooperation.

Before that, he worked as Finland's Ambassador to Lusaka, Zambia. He has also served in Finland's Embassies in Pretoria, Dublin and Ankara.

At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Anttinen has held different positions in the Department for Africa and the Middle East and in the Department for the Middle East.

Anttinen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and forestry. He joined the Foreign Ministry in 1991.
