The Embassy of Finland in Rome is looking for a full time Special /Senior Adviser on economic and trade affairs. The Special/ Senior Adviser works as part of the Embassy’s economic and trade promotion (Team Finland) team under the leadership of the Head of Representation. The Embassy of Finland in Rome is looking for a full time Special Advisor / Senior Adviser on Economic and Trade Affairs!
Duties will include:
- Advising in commercial and economic cooperation possibilities for Finnish companies related to Italy, Malta and San Marino
- Supporting and participating in the Embassy’s Team Finland work on matters focusing on market access, investments, public tenders and commercial partnerships, in particular, but not only, in defense, high-tech and transport sectors
- Preparations and arrangements for events and high-level visits
- Other duties and tasks assigned by the Ambassador
Requirements:
- A relevant university degree
- Understanding of state administration and regulatory environment for business in Italy, Malta and San Marino
- Understanding of economic and commercial operational environment and business cooperation
- Relevant work experience, for example governmental relations or trade promotion
- Fluency in Italian and English languages, both written and spoken. Working knowledge of Finnish or Swedish would be an advantage.
- Excellent social and team working skills, ability to work under pressure
A precondition for appointment to the position is passing a security clearance. A personnel security clearance may be obtained for the applicant with his or her consent (Finnish Security Clearance Act 726/2014). The applicant may also be subject to a personal security clearance in the country of employment, for which the Mission will provide further information.
The position will be filled as soon as possible, subject to agreement. Initially, the employment contract will be for a fixed term of one year (12 months). The intention is for the position to continue after the fixed-term period under a permanent employment contract. Locally recruited staff are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to the local Italian employment law.
Monthly salary: €5,000 gross.
