Ambassador-Designate of Finland Pia Rantala-Engberg presents her Letters of Credence to the President of Malta

Ambassador-Designate of Finland Pia Rantala-Engberg presented her Letters of Credence to the President at Sant'Anton Palace, Ħ'Attard.

Ambassador Pia Rantala-Engberg is visiting Malta.

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador-Designate discussed relations between the two countries, developments in Europe, and the programme and priorities of the ongoing Finnish Presidency of the European Union.

Later in the afternoon, the President and Mrs Vella hosted the newly accredited Ambassadors to an official luncheon at Sant'Anton Palace.

Ambassador Rantala-Engberg has served as a career diplomat in the Finnish Foreign Service since 1986. Previously Rantala-Engberg has served as Ambassador for Cyber Affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Ambassador of Finland to NATO in Brussels and as the Head of Mission of Finland in Ramallah, in the Palestinian Territories.

In Malta, Valletta, Finland has a Honorary Consulate General.
