Finland's new Ambassador in India
Embassy of Finland in New Delhi now has a new head of mission. The new ambassador Aapo Pölhö arrived with his spouse Inkeri Siekkinen to New Delhi in the beginning of May and presented his credentials to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee in a Credentials Ceremony on 28th May 2013. The ambassador was accompanied by Inkeri Siekkinen, Minister-Counsellor Pekka Voutilainen, Counsellor Juha Pyykkö, First Secretary Heli Lehto and Second Secretary Raimo Pahkasalo.

‘A Delicate Shade of Pink’ by Dr. Erkki Tuomioja, Minister for Foreign Affairs, published in India
During the visit of Dr. Erkki Tuomioja, Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs, to India, a book launch of ’A Delicate Shade of Pink’ was organized in cooperation with the publisher Wisdom Tree. The award-winning Finnish edition of the book was published in 2006 by Tammi. The book was launched in the presence of Dr. Shashi Tharoor, the Honorable Minister of State for Human Resource Development of India, who is himself an active and much published author.

Foreign Minister Tuomioja to visit India
Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will pay a working visit to India on 6-7 May. Tuomioja will meet Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid with whom he will discuss international and regional issues of topical interest and the relations between Finland and India.

Finnish Parliament’s Employment and Equality Committee visited India
Parliament’s Employment and Equality Committee visited Mumbai and Delhi 8-13 April 2013. The purpose of the visit, apart from getting to know to the Indian colleagues, was to discuss labour and equality issues with representatives of ILO, trade unions, women empowerment organizations and Finnish companies operating in India, among others.

Finnish movie Princess in the EU Film Festival “Celebrating Women” in India
Starting today, the 18th edition of the European Union Film Festival (EUFF) will take carefully selected range of European films for a tour of India under the topical theme "Celebrating women". The festival will lead its audience to discover the untold stories of women, to peak into the very different lives of women and even to encounter the hardships of being a woman.
