Poets of the Fall Rocked IIT Kanpur

It opened with Fire - very literally. The first bars of the opening track of the "Carnival of Rust" album were accompanied by pyrotechnic effects in front of the stage and fireworks cracking the dark Indian skies. The Poets of the Fall had landed.

Some 3000 students of IIT Kanpur and other universities rocked and sang along to the headlining act of the IIT's Rock Nite, Synchronicity, on 27 October. The Rock Nite was the zenith of the University's cultural festival Antaragni.

The Poets, having just finished their hugely successful European tour, were in India for the first time. But, they were not new to India. Late Goodbye, Maybe Tomorrow Is a Better Day, Carnival of Rust, and many more got an enthusiastic response from the crowd that knew their lyrics from A to Z. Singer Marko and the rest of the band from the "Arctic Finland" melted their hearts - and very definitely got bitten by India themselves as well.
