"Poets of the Fall" to Perform at IIT Kanpur's Rock Nite on 27 October
"Poets of the Fall" of Finland will be the headlining act of IIT Kanpur's Rock Nite, Synchronicity, on 27 October. The Rock Nite will be the zenith of the University's cultural festival "Antaragni".
The "Poets" are three rockers who first conquered the Finnish rock scene in 2004.The band's first single was Late Goodbye, written for the acclaimed computer game Max Payne 2. Reaching millions of people through the game, the song went number one in Finland, and earned the band wide international recognition. Since then, they have been sailing from one success to another.
"It was amazing to be contacted by the guys at IIT Kanpur for this event. They had heard our song in Max Payne, started exploring also the rest of our music, and now wanted to bring us over for the Rock Nite. This is our first gig in India, and we really look forward to playing in front of this audience", said Marko, the singer of the band.
"We really wanted to see this gig happen", added Kartik Kaipa, one of the co-ordinators of the Rock Nite. "The Poets have a huge following at IIT Kanpur, this will be a dream-come-true for so many of us."
