Honorary Consul Branimir Vlajo Receives Decoration of Honour
The President of the Republic of Finland has awarded our Honorary Consul Branimir Vlajo the Insignia of Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland in recognition of his services to Finland and Finnish-Croatian relations. The decoration ceremony took place on 23rd of November at the official residence of the Ambassador of Finland, Ann-Marie Nyroos.

Are you a 2010 EVA Junior Fellow?
The Finnish Business and Policy Forum EVA is looking for young and talented students, researchers and young professionals to participate in the EVA Junior Fellows Network. Every autumn the policy think tank EVA organises a two/three-day seminar in Helsinki for international EVA Junior Fellows, who operate in the fields related to EVA´s interests such as business, economics, social sciences and international relations.

Finnish Maritime Administration helps improving the safety of navigation in the East Adriatic Sea
Finnish Maritime Administration and Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Rebublic of Croatia are participating in a twinning project which aims at improving the capacity of Croatian Maritime Administration to monitor vessel traffic and sea pollution.

Finnish Parliamentarians Visit Croatia
Members of the Finnish-Croatian Inter-Parliament Friendship Group visited Croatia from September 27-29 and met with their partners from the Croatian-Finnish Friendship Group to discuss cooperation between the two countries, which was lead by Dr. Vesna Pusic.

Marketplace of European Languages
European Day of Languages was celebrated for the ninth time on 26.9.2009. The purpose of this iniative of the Council of Europe is to distribute information about the rich language heritage of Europe and encourage Europeans to study languages. In Zagreb this day was celebrated with an event at Flower Square. Participating in this event has become a tradition for the Embassy of Finland.
