Ukraine the World Trade Organization's 153rd member
The Working Party on the Accession of Ukraine adopted Ukraine's accession package in its meeting on 25 January. The accession negotiations were started in 1993 and lasted for fifteen years.
The General Council of the WTO will confirm Ukraine's membership on 5 February, and Ukraine's Parliament will have to ratify the accession instruments by 4 July 2008. Ukraine will be the WTO's 153rd member thirty days after the accession instruments have been deposited.
