Tonga to become the 151st member of the WTO

The WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong approved Tonga's accession agreement on 15 December 2005.

However, the ratification of Tonga's membership was delayed due to its internal procedures and Vietnam became the 150th WTO member in January 2007.

Tonga deposited the ratification instruments on 27 June 2007. This means that its membership will enter into force on 27 July 2007 and the country will be the 151st member of the WTO.
