Foreign Minister of Sweden Carl Bildt to visit Finland

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt will make his first visit to Finland on 30 October in his capacity as the new Foreign Minister. During the visit he will conduct official discussions with Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja. The Foreign Ministers will discuss the future of the EU and the constitutional treaty, EU enlargement, EU-Russia relations, the Northern Dimension and other topics and priorities related to Finland's EU Presidency. The current international questions to be discussed include, for instance, situations of the Western Balkans and the Middle East, Iran, Darfur, and NATO partnership programmes.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Bildt will also meet President of the Republic Tarja Halonen.
