The Embassy donates a container of tools to Zambian prisons for vocational training
Finland has been supporting the Kabwe-based NGO, Prisoners’ Future Foundation, for some years to build and refurbish skills training workshops at prisons and to provide training for lecturers and inmates. Last week, the Embassy donated 5,028 tools, machines and accessories to support certified vocational training of prisoners in 8 different trades from auto mechanics and metal fabrication to sewing and carpentry.

Finland´s country image site thisisFINLAND is renewed
Finland’s country image site ThisisFINLAND has been totally renewed. The new site has an up-to-date look and simpler user experience. The focus for the renewal has been “mobile first”, to ensure that the site works seamlessly across all mobile devices. The site supports seven different languages: the master language is English and on top of it finland.fi is published in Russian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.

The Finnish Immigration Service's new Enter Finland service
The renewal of the Finnish Immigration Service's e-services is complete. The new electronic service is called Enter Finland. Any applications pending in the old electronic service have been automatically transferred to the new service.

Finland continues support to Civil Society Environment Fund (CSEF)
The second phase of the Civil Society Environment Fund (CSEF) was launched in March. This four-year programme aims to enhance the capacity of civil society to implement environmentally sound projects and to promote sustainable and equitable development in Zambia. The programme is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
