Funding for capacity building on sustainable use of natural resources and climate resilience in forestry

The Embassy of Finland invites potential partners to submit Concept Notes for Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC). The FLC, managed by the Embassy of Finland in Hanoi, is part of Finland's development policy and it aims at eradicating poverty through economic, social and ecologically sustainable development. FLC supports projects that seek to strengthen the promotion of human rights, and the promotion of democratic and accountable societies.

The Embassy of Finland invites potential partners to submit Concept Notes of local initiatives that promote sustainable forest and natural resources management, and climate change adaptation and mitigation measures before 17:00, 10 June 2024 (Hanoi Time)

In 2024, the Embassy looks to finance one or two local initiatives that promote sustainable forest and natural resources management, and climate change adaptation and mitigation measures. The focus should be on strengthening the capacity of small enterprises, farmers and forest owners in the forest sector on the EU Forest Regulation and its implementation, and optimizing and utilizing forest data management systems. The project(s) should support gender equality and empowerment of women and girls, and vulnerable groups in the target communities.

The Concept Notes with a reference “Proposal for 2024 FLC funding” should be sent preferably in soft copy to [email protected] and cc [email protected] or in hard copy to the Embassy of Finland in Hanoi (24th Floor, Lotte Center, 54 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi) and must be received before 17:00 on 10 June 2024 (Hanoi Local Time). It shall remain your responsibility to ensure that your Concept Note will reach the correct email address above before the deadline. The Concept Notes that are received by the Embassy after the deadline indicated above, for whatever reason, shall not be considered for evaluation.

The Embassy will review the proposals and the Ambassador makes the funding decisions. Applicants that are considered for further steps will be contacted by the Embassy by the end of June.
