Support for local civil society organisations

Fund for Local Cooperation is part of Finland's development policy goals and it aims at eradicating poverty through economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable development.

One of the key objectives of Finnish development policy is to strengthen civil societies and to support civil society actors’ work towards achieving development goals.

The Embassy of Finland in Hanoi supports the local civil society in Vietnam through the Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC). FLC is part of Finland's development policy goals and it aims at eradicating poverty through economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable development. FLC supports projects that seek to strengthen the promotion of human rights, the promotion of democratic and accountable societies and sustainable management of natural resources and environmental protection.

Finland's development policy gives emphasis to human rights-based approach to development, which underlines the importance of empowerment, inclusion and participation as it strengthens the application of the principles of ownership, accountability and transparency. The human rights-based approach to development has its focus on the rights of those who are most vulnerable.

FLC funding is granted through open calls. The Embassy announces Calls for Proposals on its webpage under Current Affairs.
