Finland welcomed a new government on June 20. The Embassy of Finland in Ankara congratulates the new ministers ahead of their work on foreign policy and trade.

Finland has formed a new government as of June 20. The Embassy of Finland in Ankara welcomes the new ministers since having a new government brought some changes to key ministers.

The new Minister of Foreign Affairs is Elina Valtonen (b. 1981). Previously, she served as a parliamentary representative in the Parliament of Finland between 2014 and 2023. She served on various committees, including on the Foreign Affairs Committee, Constitutional Law Committee, and the Finance Committee. The new Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade is Ville Tavio (b. 1984). Tavio is a lawyer by profession and has served in the Parliament since 2015. Tavio has a Master of Laws degree and has served on the Speaker’s Council, the Legal Affairs Committee and the International Affairs Forum and other committees.
