Friendship Centenary Stamp & Envelope Reception

Embassy of Finland organized an event to highlight the special stamp and the envelope made for the Centenary of Diplomatic Relations between Finland and Türkiye.

In the event organized at the embassy garden, the stamp and envelope made for the centenary in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in Helsinki were introduced by Ambassador Pirkko Hämäläinen.  Ambassador Hämäläinen thanked the PTT Department Head Menderes Pınarbaşı and his team for their cooperation in the issuance of the stamp. The special design of the stamp reflects the colors of the Finnish and Turkish flags together symbolized with a white lily and a red tulip.  The framed envelopes and the stamps were given to the guests as a souvenir of the centenary.

During the event the guests enjoyed the music performed by Ankara State Opera and Ballet artists Çiçek Cihan, Umut Kosman, Gülşah Küskü and Arda Doğan. Ambassador Hämäläinen made a surprise for the guests and sang Finnish tango ‘Satumaa’.

The centenary of diplomatic relations will continue to be marked through different occasions in the coming months.
