Responsibilities of mission

The Finnish embassy in Singapore promotes the interests of Finland and Finns abroad in many different ways. We handle general political tasks, export promotion as well official tasks. Our aim is to promote the interests of Finnish business life and the companies’ export and internationalization, as well as the cooperation in the field of research and education. Promoting the visibility and awareness and providing information on Finland as a highly advanced information society is one of our main functions.

Singapore has one of the largest Finnish communities in Asia and our aim is to serve all the Finnish citizens in the best possible way. Consular services include passports for Finnish citizens, assistance to Finnish citizens in distress, population registration, notary services and matters relating to military service and Finnish citizenship. Advance voting is also arranged by the Finnish mission. Embassy provides information about Finnish authorities, and gives general advice in legal and administrative issues.

Services for foreigners include residence permits to Finland. Schengen visas to Finland are handled and issued by the Royal Danish Embassy according the Nordic cooperation agreement.
