Mattila appointed Ambassador to Singapore

Satu Mattila The President of the Republic appointed on 1 June Satu Mattila as Finland's Ambassador to Singapore as of 1 August, 2007.

Since 2004, Mattila has served as Minister Counsellor in Finland's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva. She entered the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1983. She has been posted to the Finnish Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and the embassies in New Delhi, Washington D.C. and in Tokyo, where she also served as Minister Counsellor.

At the Ministry Mattila has worked in the Protocol and the Political Departments. In 2001-2004 she was Director of the Unit for Nordic Dimension of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
