The Embassy of Finland, together with the Polish Ministry of Economy, organised an energy seminar for a targeted group of Polish companies and authorities.

Energyseminar2

The seminar, which took place in the premises of the Ministry of Economy on September 17th, addressed three of the six priorities of the Polish Energy strategy: energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and the environmental impact of the power industry. Its goal was to identify adhesion points in Poland’s energy priorities for Finnish companies, to present Finnish solutions, case studies and know-how to match Poland’s energy priorities, to give encouragement for further cooperation and to increase mutual knowledge and understanding of Finnish and Polish energy policy thinking.

Energyseminar1 The seminar was opened by the Polish Deputy Minister Joanna Strzelec-Łobodzińska – just before she travelled to Moscow to negotiate the Polish-Russian gas agreement. She presented the main lines of the Poland’s energy policy until 2030. Finland’s energy policy and know-how were described by Director General Arto Lepistö from Finland’s Ministry for Employment and the Economy. Subsequently, Managing Director Lauri Hietaniemi from Green Net Finland told participants about sub-state level cooperation between Polish and Finnish regions. Altogether eight presentations about the main topic were given by companies Fortum, Metso, Pöyry and Sirius Engineering.
