Moomin: 65 years of adventure

Never a dull moment (from left): Moomintroll, the Snork maiden, Snufkin and Sniff run through a dark forest at the Päivälehti Museum exhibition celebrating 65 years of Moomin books.

Swedish-speaking Finnish artist and author Tove Jansson’s first book about the beloved Moomin characters appeared 65 years ago. In honour of the anniversary year, we find out how and where the first Moomin was drawn, interview Jansson’s niece, Sophia, about the business of Moomin commercial rights and visit a Helsinki museum where you can walk through a Moomin picture book. Enjoy!
