The Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu is looking for a Housemaid / Cleaner to Ambassador’s residence

The Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu is looking for a Housemaid / Cleaner to start working in May 2026. The vacancy is for two years. The first six (6) months are a probationary period.

Duties will include:

  • Housekeeping and cleaning of the Ambassador’s Residence
  • Laundry washing and ironing
  • Waitering at luncheons, dinners, receptions and other functions
  • Helping with kitchen duties
  • Taking care of the cleaning equipment and taking stock of cleaning supplies
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisors

Requirements:

  • Experience in professional cleaning; preferably 5 years of previous experience as a housemaid, of which min. 3 years in an international organization or an Embassy or other relevant international employer
  • Fluency in English, good communication skills
  • At least primary education
  • Very good knowledge of cleaning products and different fabrics
  • Good health condition is necessary  
  • Having knowledge of protocol matters is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Flexibility in working hours and good time management skills
  • Teamwork spirit and service-minded attitude, good co-operation skills.
