Vacancy at the Embassy of Finland in Tel Aviv: Domestic Worker to the Ambassador's Residence

The Embassy is looking for a Domestic Worker to the Ambassador's Residence starting in mid-August 2026. Deadline for applications: Thursday 25 June, 2026.

The Embassy of Finland in Tel Aviv has a vacancy for a Domestic worker to the Ambassador's Residence for a fixed-term employment contract until the end of April 2027, starting in mid-August, 2026, or as agreed. We are looking for a service-oriented and responsible person who has the capacity, including physical, to perform his/her duties and responsibilities independently and reliably, and who is willing to work as a constructive team member in a pleasant and informal working environment.

Main duties / responsibilities 

  • Cleaning the Ambassador’s residence, indoors and outdoors; including laundry and ironing
  • Serving food and drinks at events, participating in the planning and organizing of events
  • Substituting for the Residence’s Catering and Housekeeping colleague, except for cooking
  • Other responsibilities as designated by the Head of the Mission. 


Requirements and expectations

In order to be qualified for the position, you are expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Successful completion of relevant studies
  • Clean criminal record
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience of professional work, preferably for another Embassy
  • Good verbal and written proficiency in English, and preferably in Hebrew and/or Finnish or Swedish 
  • Experience and proven ability to work reliably, carefully and with integrity, also under pressure, and in physically demanding tasks  

To be able to carry out your duties and responsibilities successfully, the following skills and abilities are required:

  • Ability to carry out and follow-up on the assigned tasks independently and reliably
  • Flexibility in working hours, ability and flexibility to work extra hours when necessary, including at Sabbath and other holidays
  • Team work spirit and customer service attitude, good co-operation skills
  • Ability to work and interact in a multicultural environment, displaying respect for people independent of, for example, their age, gender, origin, nationality, language, religion, family relationships, or disability.
  • Demonstrating integrity by modelling the Embassy’s values and ethical standards
  • Willingness to learn and develop

About the terms and conditions for employment

  • The regular working time in the position is 30 hours per week. The working hours are from Monday to Friday and occasionally on weekends and holidays, during daytime and evening hours, according to schedule to be decided by the Employer.
  • The fixed-term employment contract will be until the end of April 2027, including a probationary period of six months. There might be an option for renewal of the contract.  
  • Starting date will be in mid-August, 2026, or as agreed.
  • Salary will be determined based on the applicant’s experience and abilities, within the Embassy’s salary framework.
  • The position is subject to the local employment terms and conditions applicable to locally hired staff.
