Foreign Minister Tuomioja visits Germany and France

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will visit Berlin on Thursday, 24 August, to meet with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Their discussions will focus on the current situation in the Middle East, the unofficial EU Foreign Ministers' meeting, the so called Gymnich meeting, in Finland in September, and Afghanistan.

The same day Tuomioja will proceed from Berlin to Paris where he will meet with French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy. They will also discuss the situation in the Middle East and the preparations for the Gymnich meeting.

The EU foreign ministers will convene in an extraordinary meeting in Brussels on Friday, 25 August.
