The first ever Startup Sauna Warmup took place in Croatia

Representatives from Finland’s Startup Sauna(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window), a non-profit organization for startups and aspiring entrepreneurs, visited Zagreb on 26 March 2013 to see the latest the efforts from the local Croatian startup community and to participate in a Warmup event, hosted by the Zagreb Entrepreneurship Incubator (ZIP).  (Link to another website.) At the one-day event, participating startups in Croatia pitched their business ideas and in return, received not only feedback and coaching, but also a chance to participate in the Finnish Startup Sauna Program – a unique program that gives promising early stage start ups the opportunity to visit Finland and join a group of other brilliant startups and connect with experienced entrepreneurs, investors and media from around the world.

The Zagreb Entrepreneurship Incubator (ZIP) (Link to another website.) (Opens New Window)was founded a couple of years ago with the goal of helping aspiring entrepreneurs from Croatia build their companies.  At ZIP the most promising startups are provided with the key resources necessary to develop their products and given access to a strong, international network of mentors who advise them on how to set up their business model and enter the global market.   

Startup Sauna (Link to another website.) (Opens New Window)was founded in 2010 with a mission to build a functioning startup ecosystem in Northern Europe and Russia. The organization has already arranged over 50 Warmups around Europe and Russia. Startup Sauna’s physical premises are located at Aalto University’s (Link to another website.)
