Statement by Foreign Minister Tuomioja concerning the Istanbul terror attacks

"I strongly condemn these shocking terror attacks in Istanbul. Organised international terrorism is now a growing threat in the European region as well. Endeavours to prevent it must be increased. The European Union must now decisively increase its cooperation with Turkey, also in eradicating terrorism.

I would also like to express my condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the governments of Turkey and Britain."
