Finland significantly restricts the non-essential travel of Russian citizens

Finland restricts the non-essential travel (e.g. tourism) of Russian citizens to Finland and to Schengen area on the basis of government resolution issued on 6 July 2023. You may review the restrictions on the entry of Russian citizens on the website of Finnish Border Guard. The travel restrictions for Russian citizens are taken into account in all Schengen visa applications examined and decided by Finland.

In Cyprus, Finland represents Sweden for the purpose of examining and deciding on visa applications on behalf of Sweden, according to the Visa Code. Due the representation agreement, visa applications to Sweden are examined by Finland and the decisions will primarily follow the guidelines of Finland.

Based on the above, Finland restricts the issuance of tourist visas for Russian citizens to Sweden. Acceptance of tourist visa applications to Finland is suspended until further notice.
