Development cooperation in Uganda

Finland does not have a development cooperation country program for Uganda.

The Embassy has supported the Ugandan Human Rights Network for Journalists, an organization that aims to protect and promote freedom of expression and the rights of journalists in the country.

Finland began supporting Ugandan journalists in 2013, and has provided 180,000 euros to a project that provides legal training for journalists on their basic rights. The aim is to give journalists the ability to defend their rights and freedoms, and to build synergies between national, regional and international organizations for the protection of media freedom in Uganda.
