Tunisian Foreign Minister Abdelwaheb Abdallah visits Finland

Tunisia's Foreign Minister Abdelwaheb Abdallah will visit Finland on Monday, 22 May and meet with Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja. Their discussions will focus on current EU affairs, particularly during the Finnish EU Presidency, bilateral relations and other international issues. Foreign Minister Abdallah will also meet with President Tarja Halonen.

Tunisia is the EU's partner in the Barcelona Process. It is also among the first group of the EU neighbours to implement the Action Plan of the European Neighbourhood Policy. A review of the action plans will take place during the Finnish EU Presidency. A ministerial level Association Council between the EU and Tunisia will be organised during the Finnish Presidency. Foreign Ministers' meeting between the EU and the partner countries of the Barcelona Process will take place in Tampere on 27-28 November.
