Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja on the espionage trial against Iranian Jews
The espionage trial against Iranian Jews taking place behind closed doors in the town of Shiraz is reportedly nearing its conclusion. Finland, together with other members of the European Union, monitors the proceedings of the trial closely. We emphasise the fact that the accused must be allowed to have a fair trial in accordance with international human rights standards. Finland strictly objects to the passing of death sentence in any circumstance.
