Finland's participation in a crisis management operation in Congo

On Thursday, 1 June, the President of the Republic and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy handled in a written procedure Finland’s participation in the EU military crisis management operation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to support the country’s election process. Finland is to take part in the EUFOR RD Congo operation with 12 peacekeepers. In addition to the planned three staff officers, three Finnish medical teams will support the operation. Each of these medical teams will have three members: one doctor and two nurses. The doctors specialise in anaesthesiology and surgery.
