Swedish Foreign Minister Jan Eliasson to visit Finland

Swedish Foreign Minister Jan Eliasson will make a one-day visit to Finland on Friday 28 April. During the visit he will conduct official discussions with Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja. The Foreign Ministers will discuss the future of the EU and the constitutional treaty, the EU enlargement, the Western Balkans, the EU-Russia relations, the Northern Dimension, as well as other topics and priorities related to the Finnish EU Presidency. The current international questions to be discussed include, for instance, NATO partnership programmes, situation of the Middle East, Iran, relations with the Islamic world as well as the UN reforms.

Foreign Minister Eliasson will also meet President of the Republic Tarja Halonen during his visit.
