Responsibilities of mission
Finland and Malaysia established diplomatic relations on the 16th of June, 1973. Finland has had a resident ambassador in Kuala Lumpur since 1988. Our presence here is well established and it is reflected in many contacts and in excellent relations between our two countries. The field of responsibility of the Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur covers also the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam.
The task of the Embassy is to
- give information on Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam to political and economic decision makers in Finland
- enhance and strengthen trade and internationalisation of Finnish companies
- promote Finnish culture
- assist Finnish citizens in Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam
- give information on Finland to authorities and citizens of Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam
