Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet to visit Finland

Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will visit Finland on 27 November at the invitation of Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva. As regards bilateral relations between Finland and Estonia, the topics of discussion between the ministers will include energy cooperation between the countries, and as far as EU questions are concerned, the EU Reform Treaty, the Financial Framework, the energy and climate policy, and the wise men committee. As far as other international issues are concerned, the ministers will discuss, for instance, the Baltic Sea region cooperation, the Kosovo question, Afghanistan, Russia, and the OSCE, the chairmanship of which will transfer to Finland at the beginning of 2008.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Paet will also meet President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Sauli Niinistö.
