Embassy of Finland in Seoul is looking for a new chef for the residence of the Ambassador (extended deadline)
Embassy of Finland is looking for a chef for a fixed-term contract for the period of 15 April 2026 to 14 April 2028. Starting date can be adjusted if needed. The chef will work mostly at the Residence of the Ambassador of Finland. The contract terms are based on Korean Labor Law and the employee is locally hired by the Embassy.
We are seeking a professional who wishes to promote Finnish food culture in South Korea through their work. The chef has the overall responsibility in organizing official functions such as receptions at the Ambassador's residence including planning of menus, calculating costs, purchasing ingredients and preparing the courses. The work is very versatile covering functions from small working luncheons to receptions with over 100 guests. The chef may also present Finnish food culture in different events and interviews.
A successful applicant is expected to have:
- Relevant working experience and education
- Understanding of special requirements related to representational functions
- Good English language skills
- Knowledge of European and Finnish food culture is considered an asset
- Openness, flexibility, initiative, good interpersonal skills, organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure
