Macedonian Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva to visit Finland

The Foreign Minister of Macedonia Ilinka Mitreva will visit Finland, 16-17 February, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja. During her visit Minister Mitreva will meet President Tarja Halonen and the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paula Lehtomäki. Their talks will cover Macedonia’s closer relations with the European Union, Finnish-Macedonian relations and the situation in the Western Balkans.

Foreign Minister Mitreva’s schedule also includes meetings in Parliament and with representatives of the business community. The Foreign Minister will deliver an address at the European Commission Representation in Finland and at the Finnish Institute for International Affairs.

Finland currently has several development projects underway in Macedonia. In addition, six members of the Finnish police force work in Macedonia with the EU Proxima Police Mission.
