Legalising documents from Lebanon, Syria and Jordan

The Finnish Embassy in Beirut legalises documents issued by Lebanese, Syrian, and Jordanian authorities.

Before bringing the original documents to the Embassy of Finland in Beirut they have to be translated into English and legalised at Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the country, which has issued the documents. Both the original document and the translation must be legalised and the fee will be charged for both documents.

Instructions for Jordan

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Jordan legalises translations of original documents if the translation has been made at an office that is approved by the Ministry. The MFA legalisation office which is located in the 1st circle in Amman gives this information to clients if asked, so if the client asks for help, they could give the names of offices which they approve the translation of (of course worn translators).  If they don’t legalise a document, it means that it hasn’t been translated by one of these offices.

In Jordan it is also possible to receive original marriage certificate in English.
