Corporate Social Responsibility in Croatia and Nordic Countries
On December 11, 2012 the four Nordic Embassies in Zagreb (Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden) together with the Croatian Chamber of Economy organized a seminar “Corporate Social Responsibility as a Tool for Sustainable Economic Development.” Half a year prior to Croatia’s accession to the European Union, the seminar served as an excellent opportunity to bring together stakeholders and decision-makers to discuss the challenges and opportunities that sustainable value creation represents for the future of Croatia and Europe. Finland was represented in the panel discussion by Nokia Siemens Networks (Mr. Darko Giljevic) and the Embassy of Finland (Mr. Juha Ottman).
The goal of corporate social responsibility is to contribute to sustainable development. It can also contribute to more cost-effective business operations, improved risk-management, increased competitiveness and innovation and strengthened profile and reputation of a company.
