Statement of the OSCE Group of Friends of Georgia, 26 August 2019
Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Canada, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom and United States of America do not recognize the legitimacy of the so-called ‘presidential elections’ held in Georgia’s Abkhazia region by the de facto authorities in Sokhumi on August 25, 2019, and will not acknowledge their outcome.

Participants to the OSCE Informal Ministerial Gathering highlighted the need for effective multilateralism
The OSCE Informal Ministerial Gathering was held in Slovakia’s High Tatras on 9 July. Ministers and officials gathered to discuss OSCE’s role as a multilateral, conflict prevention tool. Finland was represented by Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto.
