Uniform sanctions implementation at the core of the 2nd Border States’ meeting in Vilnius
Border States met in Vilnius to discuss EU sanctions circumvention, especially trade routes and patters, and agreed on concrete common measures to further strengthen implementation of sanctions and prevention of sanctions circumvention.

Changes to prices of services provided by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Finnish missions abroad
Some of the prices of services provided by the Finnish missions and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will rise. The new prices will enter into force on 1 September 2023.

Heads of missions meet in Helsinki

EU sanctions evasion and circumvention at the heart of the Border States’ meeting in Helsinki
Combatting circumvention of the EU sanctions is a common mission of the EU Member States, especially of those who are at the forefront of sanctions implementation at the border with Russia. In order to facilitate co-operation further, the Border States, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and EFTA member state Norway, met in Helsinki on 15-17 May.

Finland’s Foreign Service to adopt new ‘gov.fi’ email suffix
As of 15 May, the email addresses of the staff members at Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and missions abroad will be, as a rule, in the format [email protected]. The change is part of the overall harmonisation of the Government’s email addresses.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto to deposit Finland's instrument of accession and attend NATO foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels
On 4 April, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will deposit Finland's instrument of accession to the North Atlantic Treaty. Minister Haavisto will deposit the instrument of accession in Brussels with the Government of the United States. Finland will become a NATO member country at the moment of the deposit. Minister Haavisto will also represent Finland at the meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs starting on the same day.
