Acceptance procedure for public documents is simplified in EU countries
The EU Regulation on simplifying the requirements for presenting public documents will become applicable on 16 February 2019. The Regulation aims to reduce formalities and costs related to the acceptance of documents such as marriage and birth certificates.

I have worked now for a few months as the Finnish Ambassador to Latvia and I can say with great satisfaction that the bilateral relations between Finland and Latvia are close and free of problems.

Postal voting 2019: order voting documents
A possibility to vote by post will be introduced in the parliamentary elections of spring 2019. This means that eligible voters who reside abroad permanently (expatriate Finns) and eligible voters who reside in Finland but are abroad at the time of the elections may vote by post. Advance voting will be arranged at Finnish diplomatic and consular missions abroad in the same manner as before.
