Twinning: Azerbaijan on its way to better air quality
The Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Finnish Environment Institute were engaged in a Twinning project relating to the development of air quality monitoring and management in Azerbaijan. The project lasted two and a half years. It was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan. The project involved 80 trips of experts to Baku and to other parts of the country. “Organisations and people involved in Twinning projects consider them as learning experiences,” says Katja Lovén, Resident Twinning Adviser (RTA) in Baku.

The Future of Healthcare Seminar and Networking Event 28.5.2019
The embassy of Finland in Latvia and Team Finland hosted a seminar and networking event on healthcare and hospitals on May 28. The theme of the evening was the Future of Healthcare from Latvian and Finnish perspectives. In attendance were representatives from Latvian hospitals, officials, municipalities and opinion makers as well as Business Finland representatives and Finnish companies from the healthcare, infrastructure and digitalization sectors.

Team Finland Business Breakfast with Timo Riihimäki, CEO of RailBaltica
Timo Riihimäki, the CEO of RailBaltica opened our Team Finland Business Breakfast on the 24th of April. Mr. Riihimäki talked us through the RailBaltica project: its goals, its current phase and the views for the future. RailBaltica is a major rail transport infrastructure project, which aims to fully integrate the Baltic States into the railway system of Continental Europe as well as the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The RailBaltica project is a major investment for the Baltic States and the EU, but it also brings great benefits and creates welfare.
