Namibia’s Foreign Minister Peya Mushelenga to visit Finland

The Namibian Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Peya Mushelenga, will visit Helsinki on 2–5 October and meet Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will meet Namibia's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Peya Mushelenga in Helsinki on 4 October.

The ministers will discuss the bilateral relations and the strengthening of trade relations between Finland and Namibia. Other topics of discussion include Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.

“Finland and Namibia share a special historic relationship that dates back more than 150 years. This visit will further strengthen this relationship. With regard to the trade relations, we will discuss cooperation in the development of critical mineral value chains in particular – this is necessary to ensuring the success of the green transition. In many respects, Namibia is an important partner not only for Finland but also for the EU,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Valtonen.

During his visit to Finland, Minister Mushelenga will also meet President of the Republic Alexander Stubb, Speaker of Parliament Jussi Halla-Aho and Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz.
