Identification of student applicants will be temporarily prioritized from 7th June onwards at VFS Tehran
To support timely processing and ensure that students can begin their studies in Finland as scheduled, the identification of student applicants will be prioritized from 7th June onwards. During this period, identification appointments will be reserved specifically for students but not their family members. This measure is intended to facilitate a faster identification process and reduce delays during the peak student intake season.
Key points of the new temporary policy
- The main applicant (student) should book the identification appointment at VFS before the accompanying family members. We also highly encourage you to apply for a D-visa together with your residence permit in order to facilitate swift arrival to Finland after you’re decision has been made by the Immigration service.
- Family member appointments:
During this prioritization period, family members accompanying student applicants will not be able to book identification appointments.
- Resumption of appointments:
Identification appointment slots for family members will be made available again once the prioritization period ends.
This new policy is in force until further notice and the purpose of these changes is to ensure that the student applications will be processed on time to begin studies in Finland as planned. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this. More appointment slots for family members will be allocated in August after the student applications have been received.
