Family reunification in Finland now subject to a charge
The residence permit applications of the family members of individuals afforded international protection in Finland are now always subject to a charge. The processing of the residence permit application of an adult family member now costs EUR 455, while that of a child costs EUR 230. The application will not be processed until the charge has been paid. The charge will not be refunded even if the application is rejected. The change is not applicable to applications submitted prior to 16 May 2016.
Applications to be submitted to missions in person
If you wish to settle in Finland with a family member already residing in the country, you will always need a residence permit to do so. You can apply for the residence permit only after your family member who entered Finland as an asylum seeker has received their residence permit. The relevant application must be submitted to Finland’s mission.
If you live in Afghanistan, for example, you must submit your application in person to the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi, India.
Please note that being granted a residence permit in Finland may require several visits to the Finnish Embassy.
Family reunification is based on a family relationship
Usually, residence permits intended for family reunification in Finland can be granted only to members of a nuclear family, provided that the conditions are met. In the case of an adult, members of the nuclear family include the spouse and underage children, and in the case of an underage child, the child’s guardians and underage siblings. Only in exceptional cases may other family members be granted a residence permit.
Due to the record-high number of asylum seekers last year, the number of family reunification applications is also expected to grow this year. The income collected through the processing fees will cover a part of the costs incurred as a result of hiring additional personnel, for example.

مثلاً اگر در افغانستان زنده گی میکنید، باید درخواست خود را بهطور حضوری به سفارت فنلند در دهلینو، هند ارائه نمایید.
لطفاً توجه داشته باشید که ممکن است اعطای اجازه اقامت در فنلند نیاز به چند بار مراجعه به سفارت فنلند داشته باشد.
پیوستن به خانواده براساس رابطه خانواده گی صورت میگیرد
معمولاً اجازه اقامت در نظر گرفته شده برای پیوستن به خانواده در فنلند تنها به اعضای اصلی خانواده و به شرط برآورده نمودن شرایط اعطای اقامت میباشد. در مورد یک فرد بزرگسال، اعضای اصلی خانواده عبارتند از همسر و فرزندان زیر سن قانونی، و در مورد کودک زیر سن قانونی، عبارتند از سرپرستان کودک و خواهران و برادران زیر سن قانونی او. فقط در موارد استثنایی ممکن است به دیگر اعضای خانواده اجازه اقامت داده شود.
با توجه به تعداد بسیار زیاد پناهجویان در سال گذشته، انتظار میرود امسال تعداد درخواستهای پیوستن به خانواده نیز افزایش یابد. درآمدی که از هزینه بررسی درخواستها حاصل میشود بخشی از مصارف متحمل شده در پوشش هزینه امور بطور مثال استخدام پرسونل اضافی بکار برده میشود.
