Abattoir - towards an exciting food culture
A food and design meeting place has opened to all in the Tukkutori Wholesale Market in Helsinki. The market will be open for four months, and we welcome event suggestions from city residents, too. Farmers Market style markets, PopUp restaurants and design events will bring together people who are interested in food and urban culture.

Finland a candidate to join the UN Security Council
Finland is a candidate for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council during 2013–2014. It is likely that the election will take place in New York City on 18 October 2012. The Council is a main body of the UN and is responsible for maintaining international peace and security. It has five permanent members (the UK, China, France, Russia and the United States) and ten non-permanent members.

Team Finland is ready to roll
”There's a new kind of buzz in Team Finland,” said Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb when speaking about new trends in Finnish exports promotion at the Foreign Ministry's Annual Meeting of Finnish Heads of Mission on 21 August. Co-speaker with Minister Stubb, Minister of Economic Affairs Jyri Häkämies agreed: ”Team Finland is an excellent initiative, designed to facilitate things for enterprises while promoting opportunities for growth and internationalisation”.
